Password reset
Should there be an occurrence where you cannot access your account because of a forgotten password, please follow the steps below to reset it.
If you are an external user, you have to:
- Visit faubox.rrze.fau.de.
- Choose the option Guests.
- Enter the e-mail of the account which you wish to reset the password for.
- Click on Recover password.
- You will now receive an e-mail containing a link that will redirect you to the following form.
- Enter your new password, confirm it, and click on Change.
- Done! You can now log into the FAUbox by using your new password.
If you are an internal User, you have to:
- Visit faubox.rrze.fau.de.
- Choose your institution.
- Now you will be redirected to the authentication system of your institution (Please note: The webpage may look different depending on your institution and its system).
- Click on Continue with password recovery.
- You will be redirected once again.
- Enter your IdM-ID, solve the given task, and click on Recovery by e-mail.
- Check your mailbox. You will receive an e-mail containing a link to reset your password. Click on the link.
- After you were redirected, enter a new password, confirm it, and click on Set password.
- Done! You can now log into the FAUbox (and also all other web pages requesting your password) by using your new password.
