Problem: No Tray Icon on Linux
Problem:
This problem may occur after installing the FAUbox client on a Linux device whose Windows Manager does not support xembed. The issue is caused by the interoperability of Java and the Windows Manager subsystem which is supposed to display the tray icons.
Note: This problem only affects older Linux systems.
Solution:
A.) Configure the client window to always be shown:
- Stop the FAUbox client.
- Edit the Client Configuration File an add the parameter
pref.ExpertMode=true.
- Restart the FAUbox client.
B.) Use wmsystemtray to view the Tray Icon:
- Stop the FAUbox client.
- Install
wmsystemtray.
- Run
wmsystemtray --nowmaker --bgcolor white.
- Restart the FAUbox client.
